Sometimes we can feel that everything is going wrong on our lives, in our country or even right throughout the world. This feeling is heighted by news programmes and newspapers obsessed with pointing out what is wrong in the world.
This month I would like to remind you that no matter how bad you may feel about your life there are always things to be grateful for in your life. But not only that. I want to show you how to bring gratitude into your daily routine and the amazing benefits that this can bring.

THE POWER OF GRATITUDE
If there is one thing that can start to transform our lives quickly it is to begin to regularly express gratitude for all the things we do have no matter how we may currently feel about our lives or circumstances. Not only will this shift our energy and our thinking, it will help us focus on what we feel good about and help us notice even more things in our lives that we can feel grateful for. But perhaps most importantly, by expressing gratitude we will, with the powerful law of attraction, start to attract more and more of these good things into our lives.
But before you go any further you might want to watch this video to start to appreciate just how blessed you already are.
This habit of feeling grateful throughout each day is a habit that is practised by all very successful people in life and business. It is one of the reasons why these people are so successful. The fact is that, whatever we think about and thank about, we bring about.
By expressing gratitude at the start of every day we are setting out our intentions for that day. Remember we are the creators of our lives and this process helps us to create days full of things to be and feel grateful for.
Getting Started
I suggest that every morning as soon as you get up start to say thank you for everything that you appreciate in your life. At first this might seem difficult as you may not be in the habit of noticing all of the things in your life that you can be grateful for. Depending on your circumstances you can be thankful for your wife, children, friends, job. You can express gratitude for your home, your breakfast, the clothes on your back, your health your skills and talents. In fact you can be thankful that you woke up this morning with a chance to enjoy another wonderful day. This last point has been brought home to me on a number of occasions in the past but never more so than when I heard that Gerry Ryan, the great Irish radio presenter had passed away last week at the age of 53. So yes do say thanks for waking up!!!
The second element of this exercise is to feel the feelings of gratitude. For this process to bring you the success you are looking for the feelings of gratitude are even more important that using the words. So make sure you feel grateful as you express thanks for all you have.
Creating the Habit of Gratitude
One of the challenges involved in this process is how to build gratitude into your day to day life so that it becomes a habit that you do naturally each day. I was recently re-reading a fantastic book on the law of attraction called “The Secret” which was originally launched as a DVD. One of the contributers to the book and DVD is a very successful businessman Lee Brower. To remind himself to be grateful each day he kept a rock in his pocket and everytime he felt the rock he expressed gratitude for something in his life. Of course before he went to bed each night he would empty his pockets, see the rock and immediately be reminded to end his day by expressing and feeling gratitude for different aspects of his life. The same thing would happen first thing in the morning as he got dressed.
The book develops this story further and we discover that these gratitude rocks have had a major impact on many other people since then and Lee himself has a business selling gratitude rocks. What could you use to gently remind you to give thanks for all the good in your life. Perhaps you could choose your own gratitude rock from a local stream or use a unique coin to do the same job.
I promise you this. If you can implement this one suggestion into your life right now not only will you feel immediately better about yourself and your life but you will start to attract more and more into your life that you can express gratitude for. This “attitude of gratitude” has the potential to transform your life.

The Secret: This is the definitive book/dvd on the law of attraction. It has a specific section on gratitude which it states is the most important element to successfully implementing the law of attraction in your life.
The Science of Growing Rich:This is a very famous personal development book written by Wallace Wattles. What is the topic of it’s biggest chapter – Gratitude.
